Congratulations to our Citizenship student J.! J. came to the U.S. from El Salvador as a teenager because he was at an age where rebel groups would have conscripted him. He had interrupted schooling in El Salvador because of the war. He came to live with family in Boston and had to leave school in Boston in order to work to help support the family. He is now a husband, father, laborer, and union member. He came to our citizenship class to prepare for the naturalization interview and civics, reading, and writing tests. With a lot of hard work and support from our teachers, he passed! Congratulations, J.!
