Building better lives one word at a time
Literacy Volunteers of the Montachusett Area provides:
- Free, confidential, and individualized tutoring in basic literacy and English for speakers of other languages.
- Assessment to determine appropriate placement with a tutor.
Students and tutors commit to working together for 9-12 months for 2 hours a week. Students and tutors meet and work together usually at a public place like a library, coffee shop, or park. More recently, due to CoVID, our tutors and students are meeting and working remotely by phone, text, e-mail, or video conference (Skype, Zoom, GoogleMeet, etc.)
